Warning About Borrowing

Before applying for credit with IVF Pay, please read this document carefully. Borrowing money is a significant financial commitment and it is important that you understand your obligations and the risks involved.

⚠ WARNING: Do not apply for credit unless you understand the loan contract and are confident you can meet repayments without substantial hardship.

1

Borrowing is a serious financial commitment

Taking out a personal loan creates a legally binding obligation to repay the amount borrowed, together with interest and fees, over the agreed loan term. You are required to make regular repayments regardless of changes in your personal or financial circumstances.

2

Only borrow what you can afford to repay

Before applying, carefully consider whether you can comfortably meet your repayments now and in the future. You should only borrow what you genuinely need. Borrowing more than necessary increases the total cost of your loan and the risk that you may experience financial difficulty.

3

Your circumstances may change

Events such as changes in employment, reduction in income, illness, relationship breakdown, or unexpected expenses can affect your ability to meet repayments. Consider how you would manage your loan repayments if your circumstances changed before committing to a loan.

4

The total cost of borrowing

The total amount you repay over the life of your loan will be greater than the amount you borrow, due to interest and fees. This includes the establishment fee, monthly account keeping fees, and accrued interest. Use our repayment calculator to understand the full cost of your loan before you apply.

5

Consequences of default

If you fail to make repayments on time, you may incur default fees and additional interest charges. Your default may also be listed on your credit report, which can affect your ability to obtain credit in the future. In cases of serious default, IVF Pay may take recovery action, which may include engaging debt collection services or legal proceedings.

6

Seek independent advice

We encourage you to seek independent financial or legal advice before entering into a credit contract. A financial counsellor can help you understand your options at no cost. Free financial counselling is available through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 (Mon–Fri, 9:30am–4:30pm).
